Intimate Love Wedding – Maggie & Geordie

What an incredible day!

To be surrounded by so much love (literally, their last name is Love!) with this family for the third time! I am so humbled to have photographed Maggie and Geordie’s wedding this summer. After photographing both Geordie’s sister’s weddings over the last 2 years, it has really felt like I have been welcomed into the family.

The intimate wedding took place on cloudy August day on a private property in Newcastle, ON where the Love family has spent many summers together. The day began with Geordie and his best guys getting ready in the small stone cottage owned by his uncle across the small road. The guys all wore matching socks and had fun showing off their patterned and personalized boxers for the day! I later met Maggie and her girls at a nearby Bed and Breakfast owned by the kindest couple, who were happy to oblige the girls getting their dresses on and organized for the day. As Maggie and I drove back down the road to the cottage to meet up with Geordie, she mentioned just how excited she was to see Geordie, no nerves at all! Maggie looked like a princess straight out of a fairy tale as she walked through the grass to give Geordie a big hug, the two were all smiles for the rest of our session!

Part way through our photo session, the skies opened and it began to downpour! I’m talking don’t even move under the umbrella kinda of rain! The bridal party, Alex and I all huddled under a few umbrellas and stood frozen as we weighed our options of staying put or making a run for it. Maggie and Geordie didn’t even bat an eye as we finally decided to head back to the cottage, taking photos and smiling as we went. Once protected from the rain we dried off inside and the we all sat around to play charades and other games while enjoying a few drinks.

Geordie watched the weather on his phone and decided to push the ceremony back by only a few minutes as it looked like the skies were going to clear. And just like that, it did, and they were married under a sunny sky in front of their family and closest friends! A beautiful champagne toast was made in honour of the couple before heading into the tent for an intimate wedding reception. Guests laughed and cheered as Maggie and Geordie played a few fun wedding games during an incredible dinner catered by Daniel et Daniel
