churros, confetti, rooftops + records
were just a few of our stops for Mona and Nick's Kensington Market engagement session in downtown Toronto. This Kensington Market engagement was extra special for 2 reasons;
1. I went to highschool with Mona and it was amazing to reconnect and hear what shes's been up to, and of course meet her amazing beau, Nick!
2. Kensington Market holds a special place in my heart, as it's not only where I call home, but also where my relationship with Christian began and our story continues.
Mona and Nick both lived in Toronto and met through mutual friends, when their first date was supposed to be a baseball game that didn't work out, they opted to wander Kensington Market. We recreated that first date by stopping at the same taco place, this time opting for churros! We were surprised with confetti through the streets and an empty parking lot for some rad skyline shots. A typical evening for Mona and Nick is listening to records at home, so we stopped in at Sonic Boom where they both made a straight line to the 90s rap and hip hop section - their fav genre! We flipped through records and they picked out a few to add to their collection before we called it a night.
Thank you Mona and Nick for spending an amazingly, relaxed, sugar and confetti filled evening with me in our shared favourite spot in the city! <3
Keep an eye out for some wedding sneak peeks from these two in the next couple of days!!
Design inspiration for April and Mike’s wedding; “We wanted it to feel as warm and romantic as possible. That included lots of candle light, keeping the colour palette simple, but also adding that pop of teal as a feature. The couple loves Christmas time and were so excited to share the season with their friends and family. We wanted to pay homage to that special time with touches of traditional decor but reimagined with a timeless and creative spin. This lead to the gorgeous ornaments that guests got to take home and hopefully treasure for years as a memory. I love when the decor has such a strong impact on guests as they walk into a venue and that includes details like how the space smells, so we had Tanya incorporate evergreens to make you really feel that winter wonderland spirit everywhere!”
