Jennifer See Studios' Best of 2020

At the beginning of last year, I was prepared for 2020 to be the best year for Jennifer See Studios to date! I had a calendar filled with highly anticipated weddings, some epic shooting locations, more dates for my workshop venture (The Portfolio Series), a photo retreat, and whole lot of fun mixed in. The wind was in my sails and I was about half way into the boat when the clouds rolled in.

How does one truly sum up 2020? The forever year that brought on all the emotions; the good, the bad, the confusing, the exhausting, and the list goes on.

The storm that followed was unforgiving! Everything collectivly flew out the window, plumetted five stories, and smacked into the concrete. Then things really got wild. There were emotional moments, frustrating moments, solitary moments, and moments so filled with anger I scared myself. But mixed in there amongst all the yuck was the love and support I felt from many of my couples! They built a supportive community of optimism and resilience so strong that not even the pandemic of our lifetime was going to stop them from getting hitched!

And while some tough choices were made in favour of postponing or cancelling wedding plans, I experienced a huge silver lining when I opened up my booking calendar and was able to document more families than ever before! My goal when I shoot couples is to caputre their relationship and focus on the little nuances between them. I have found that those nuances become amplified during a family session where there are even more relationships involved.

I am proud to present my 2020 gallery as a snapshot into the amazing moments and connections I was lucky enough to witness and capture during such a turmoil year. I invite you to explore these images in slideshow form or scroll through at your own pace. I hope viewing these images bring you as much joy as I had in shooting and reliving each incredible moment while putting this piece together!

I am so thankful to each and every person who stepped in front of my camera in 2020. It means more than you'll ever know, you kept my creativity and passion for my job alive and burning while also supporting my small business! THANK YOU!
