Meg + Jon’s Prince Edward County Wedding

wedding at Wander the Resort by Jennifer See Studios
Meg and Jon's Prince Edward County wedding

Meg and Jon's Prince Edward County wedding was filled to the brim with love, friends, style and margaritas! They decided to throw a few traditional elements out the window, and a few others they wanted to rework and make their own. I've always said (you may even find a quote around here on my website) that I absolutely love when couples break free of traditions, do what they want and make their wedding day truly their own. Meg and Jon did just this!

Their wedding day began at Wander the Resort, a gorgeous new resort in Prince Edward County that just opened this year, and just wow, they've got the details on point! It was the perfect spot to capture a few candids of Meg getting ready before their first big tradition break. Meg's Dad walked her down to the beach (think aisle) where Jon was waiting, for their first look. A huge group gathered around Jon as they all saw her for the first time in her dress. As you'll see in the photos there's quite a crowd for the first look, their wedding party consisted of about 20 people because M & J both decided that if they were going to have a wedding party it was either all or nothing, so both sides were stacked with years of friendship and love! It made for so much excitement during their first look, lots of hugs and a few tears before they popped some chamgagne to kick things off! Wander the Resort proved to be a gorgeous spot for all the wedding party & family photos before I spent some time with the soon to be Mr & Mrs.

The reception kicked off elsewhere in the county at Parsons Brewing, a laid back, outdoor brewery setting turned stylish wedding spot! (also it was their first time hosting a wedding and they totally knocked it out of the park) Guests arrived and were greeted with delicious passed apps, a margarita bar (SOLD! My kind of people) and oysters before the MC's introduced themselves and began speeches as guests mingled and listened with drinks in their hands while the sun began setting. Just before it was completely dark, Meg and Jon took to the stage they had custom built to begin their ceremony. Under string lights, surrounded by friends and family their cousin officiated the most beautiful ceremony where they made promises to love one another forever! Immediately following, everyone took their seats and enjoyed a beautiful meal together.

What a joy it was to capture 2 people surrounded by so much love, having so much fun and creating memories that will last a lifetime! From details at the reception, the candid fun the girls were having in the setting sun, laughs during speeches and the 2 gorgeous settings they chose in Prince Edward County, I hope you truly feel the loving vibe this wedding encapsulated! Meg and Jon, thank you so much for trusting in me to document your day! xo

What was your favourite part of the day?!

Meg - "Truly the whole day was a fav moment but a few extra favs - first look on the beach at the wander, my dads surprise “Dance with my daughter” performance, the marg bar, dancing the night away, my sisters speech, our intimate ceremony (I felt SO present during our ceremony)"

Jon - "Probably just sitting there and watching all our friends and family give speeches! Taking it in. It was all so good but that is when i could sit back and enjoy.”

What were the most important things you thought about while going through the planning process?

The ceremony vision was the most important for me. We really wanted to feel comfortable and present during the ceremony so we changed things up. We did it under the stars, everyone gathered around casually with a drink in hand and we walked onto the ceremony stage together ready to tie the knot.
The marg and oyster bar was a must! Along with amazing music was very important. The band killed it!
We really just wanted it to be chill and everyone enjoy themselves
