Toronto Coffee Shop Wedding – Erin & Dan

Toronto Lawn Bowling Club Wedding - bride and groom portrait

Erin and Dan contacted me early on in their wedding planning and we quickly got together over coffee to chat about all the details they were putting in place.

As fellow coffee addicts they determined that Propeller Coffee would be the perfect space downtown for their wedding to gather with their closest while they made life long promises to one another!

When deciding on what to do for engagement sessions, I always suggest to couples to simply go on a date. Do something you normally do together. Then I just get to third wheel haha! Erin and Dan decided to swap out the coffee for beer for their session and head to one of their (and my) favourite breweries in the city, Bandit Brewery. With the adorable logo, string lights and a fantastic atmosphere, it made for the perfect spot to end our session! (side note: more sessions here please! Or even a wedding!! Or any brewery for that matter!).

With Erin and Dan’s coffee shop wedding quickly approaching, we planned for their portrait session and first look to take place across from their house. It would be convenient provided a bit of green space in the middle of downtown Toronto and happened to be at the cutest lawn bowling club, with a super friendly owner who offered it up to them. On their day, I walked over with Dan and his best man, they brought a couple beers to give to the owner of the club as a thank you and we waited as Erin hopped out of the uber to meet her groom! Along with each of their best friends as their bridal party, Erin and Dan proceeded to spend the next hour laughing their way through lawn bowling! They also received a quick lesson from the owner which was super kind and also adorable of him! We did all their portraits and family photos here, just across the street from where they live. It was super special as their home together is in the background of all their wedding photos!

After all the portraits we headed to Propellor Coffee shop where the rest of the evening would be filled with good beer (and coffee of course), their vows, some live music, dancing and funny speeches! Erin and Dan planned the most relaxed wedding day I’ve been a part of in a long time. Everything seemed effortless and almost just like an ordinary day for them, hanging out, laughing with friends and enjoying every moment of being together! I’m looking forward to more relaxed days like this where I get to capture 2 people just doing them, and the whole getting married at a coffee shop was also amazing!
