Villa Punto de Vista Wedding- Maisey + Aaron

JSS-MaiseyAaron-717

This beautiful, four-day Villa Punta De Vista wedding in Costa Rica was certainly one for the books! Maisey and Aaron were gracious hosts of an incredible wedding celebration that included love, laughter, tequila, a spontaneous pool party and much more!

The moment I met Maisey and Aaron, I instantly felt like I had known them forever. They were so kind and welcoming and we had a lot in common – it was a great feeling, especially knowing I was about to spend almost a week’s worth of time the two of them and their closest humans.

The first of the four days, guests were greeted with a welcome dinner to get acquainted, followed by a fun boat cruise the following day. The vibes leading up to the wedding were immaculate and you could tell that their guests all had been itching to get away and celebrate together!

Speaking of immaculate vibes, Villa Punta De Vista made for the perfect backdrop for the multi day celebrations. This gorgeous, jungle retreat by the ocean in Manuel Antonio was an absolute oasis and it was able to accommodate all of Maisey and Aaron’s guests for the entire stay. It was jaw-droppingly beautiful.

Before the ceremony began, the officiant (who was Maisey's cousin!) asked everyone to take out their phones, take a selfie with the people around them or a picture of the beach to capture the moment and then to put their phones away. I thought this was a great way to drive home the message that phones should be put away before the ceremony. As a photographer, phones are always an issue at weddings. (KEEP YOUR PHONES AWAY PEOPLE – THAT’S WHAT I’M HERE FOR!) After this happened, guests were 100% present and able to soak in the vows, views and love shared throughout the ceremony.

For a day that looked like it might rain (as it often does this time of year in the jungle) we lucked out with the most epic sunset (funny enough, we had almost no sunsets the whole time we were there except the night of the wedding), so Maisey, Aaron, and myself ran around on the beach and took some great photos before heading up to the villa for their reception. Because they had a welcome dinner that included all their speeches, the wedding day reception kicked off with a toast and thank you's from Maisey and Aaron before everyone was able to fully enjoy their dinner.

Once dinner was over, they had an epic dance party. The music was incredible, the drinks were flowing and the sweat production was OVERflowing (HAHA!). This led to a spontaneous jump in the pool and a perfect midnight cool off. It truly was the perfect ending to a wedding in the jungle!

What was your favourite part of the whole experience?

Maisey - "The beautiful sunset we got! It rained every evening we were in there except for our wedding day. It was truly a miracle that I will be forever grateful for!"

Aaron - "I enjoyed watching the anticipation that seemed to build each day as we approached the main event. Each day, we had a little something planned for our guests that just seemed to lock in permanent smiles and spread excitement like wildfire. By the time the wedding ceremony came around the whole villa was ready to rock and we got the beautiful, seamless wedding ceremony and celebration we had envisioned"

How did you choose Villa Punta de Vista in Costa Rica?

"Sort of by accident! We were searching for venues in Costa Rica and stumbled upon this eye-catching villa. The hospitality we received from the staff was second to none, and the villa is just down right gorgeous. We had also never seen the place in person and that was also part of the excitement upon arrival. From start to finish this place offered a dreamy, once in a lifetime experience for us, and all of our guests to celebrate our marriage"

Any advice for others considering or planning a destination wedding?

"Rule number one....consider Villa Punto De Vista! Every single moment was absolutely cherished, we felt like we were in a movie! Two, get yourself a photographer that you would also want to be a guest at your wedding! Jenn did a wonderful job not only capturing those special moments, but spent a week with our entire group and she felt like family when it was all said and done. Third, we would highly, highly recommend a wedding planner, Karen was our backbone throughout the year of planning and also the wedding week itself. We WOULD NOT have been able to do any of this without her. Wherever your wedding destination may be, consider using outside support as it is simply far too difficult to accomplish everything alone"
